In a dramatic green-white-checkered finish, Gale, a rookie, edged Sprint Cup Series star Kyle Busch to the line to earn his first career win in a NASCAR race. Gale took the lead entering turn four on the final lap and held on to win the race by just fourteen-one-thousandths of a second.

Making his first career start at the south Florida track, Gale turned his first lap at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday morning. With just a two-hour practice session to learn the circuit, Gale worked closely with crew chief Jerry Baxter and spotter Rick Carelli to develop his line around the racetrack and prepare for the afternoon qualifying session and the evening’s race. By the end of practice, Gale posted the third quickest lap of the day, and backed up his time with the fifth-quickest lap during qualifying later that afternoon.

Gale rolled off fifth for the 201 miles of racing scheduled at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday night. At a track where tires quickly wear down, the Rheem team knew that tire management would play a big role in the season’s final event and crew chief Jerry Baxter tried to plan a strategy that would capitalize on that standard.

Always taking four tires, Gale made four pit stops throughout the night working with only minor air pressure adjustments to fine-tune the handling of his truck and keep up with the cooling racetrack. The rookie contender maintained his position inside the top 10 all night and was running ninth when the caution flag waved on lap 126.

The Rheem team knew that sticker tires could make all the difference in the final eight laps and decided to make the bold call to bring Gale down pit road. With four sticker tires, Gale restarted the race in the 13th position for the final five laps. Gale picked up 12 positions to be scored in second-place as the caution flag waved again on lap 133.

With debris scattered across the race track, a 10 minute red flag prepared the field for a green-white-checkered finish. Gale restarted the race in the bottom groove with his No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. After initially falling behind the leader, the rookie contender kept his concentration and continued to battle for position. Gale found himself side-by-side with the No. 18 of Kyle Busch as they came down the backstretch on the final lap and was able to pull ahead as they exited turn four. The duo made contact setting off sparks and smoke as they raced along the front stretch wall all the way to the checkered flag. When they crossed the line, Gale edged Busch by just fourteen-one-thousandths of a second.

“I’ve had a great opportunity with the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet this year at Eddie Sharp Racing this season,” commented an elated Cale Gale. “I’m just a racer from Mobile, Ala. that had a great sponsor in Rheem and a great team at Eddie Sharp Racing. I had never raced at Homestead-Miami Speedway before today, but it was a lot of fun. This is just a dream come true. I can’t thank everyone enough for all their support; I’m excited to see what is in store for me next year.”

No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet News and Notes

First time at Homestead… Cale Gale will make his first start at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway on Friday, Nov. 16. The rookie contender has attended races at the mile-and-a-half oval in Homestead, Fla., but has never competed at the speedway.

Racing with Rheem’s traditional red & black… The No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet driven by Cale Gale will sport its traditional red and black paint scheme for this weekend’s 201-mile race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Top-10 finish in Phoenix… Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet team came home in the seventh position at Phoenix International Raceway last Friday night. In Gale’s first start at the one-mile speedway, the rookie contender qualified fourth and maintained his position inside the top five throughout the first half of the race. Racing hard for position, Gale spun off turn four on lap 73, but recovered from the mishap to secure his seventh top-10 finish of the 2012 season. As the highest finishing rookie in the 150-lap event, Gale was named the Sunoco Rookie of the Race.

Gearing up for the off-season… While many drivers enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with their families, Cale Gale will already be back at a race track. The week following the NCWTS season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Gale will be at Concord (N.C.) Motorsports Park with Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) development driver Brandon Jones. Gale worked closely with 15-year-old Jones as the driver began his career, and will once again call the shots as Jones’ crew chief in the Pro All Star Series’ (PASS) Thanksgiving Classic / Mason-Dixon Meltdown on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Battling for points… With the 2012 season coming to an end, Cale Gale continues to be ranked inside the top 15 in both the championship driver and owner point standings. Gale, who has scored seven top-10 finishes this season, is ranked 12th in driver points and 14th in owner points. With just one event remaining, Gale continues to be ranked second in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings.

NCWTS most popular driver… This is the FINAL week to vote Cale Gale for the NCWTS Most Popular Driver Award! Visit nascar.com/ncwtsmpd to vote for Gale every day this week. Voting ends on Friday, Nov. 16, and the winner will be announced during the Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series Awards banquet at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel on Monday, Nov. 19.

Watch and listen… The NCWTS will travel to Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway for a champion to be named following the final race of the 2012 season on Friday, Nov. 16. The weekend will kick off with a broadcast of qualifying from the mile-and-a-half track on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time. Live coverage of the 134-lap race will follow later that evening at 7:30 p.m. EST on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

From the Driver’s Seat
Cale Gale Quotes…

On getting ready for Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“I’m not really sure what to expect this weekend with our No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. I’ve never raced at Homestead-Miami Speedway, so it will be a whole new experience for me. I’ve talked to a couple guys to get their feedback and learn what I can. There’s only one two-hour practice and it’s a one-day show, so I need to learn quickly. There’s progressive banking, which means that we’ll be able to run all over the race track and there should be a lot of side-by-side racing. We’re taking the same truck that we ran at Texas Motor Speedway. It’s a really good truck for us; it’s been fast everywhere we’ve taken it, and I’m looking forward to racing it again this weekend.”

Looking back on his rookie campaign:

“Racing the full NCWTS schedule this year in the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet for Eddie Sharp Racing has been a dream come true. I want to thank my sponsor, Rheem, for all their support this year; I never would have had this opportunity without their backing. My ESR team has worked hard all season and has given me great trucks week after week, so I would like to thank them for their hard work. I’ve had a lot of fun over the last 21 races and I’m looking forward to getting to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend to finish out the season strong with our No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet.”

From the Pit Box
Jerry Baxter Quotes…

On racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“We’re excited to get to Homestead-Miami Speedway with the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. The track surface there is very hard on tires, so we will need to focus on tire management throughout the day on Friday. Your first lap of the day is almost always your fastest lap of the day at tracks that wear out the tires. With Cale, who has never raced at this track before, we need to be careful not to chase the leaderboard. Cale needs to get comfortable on the track and learn his line, and once he does that we’ll put new tires on the truck and see what we run. Homestead-Miami Speedway is a really wide track with a lot of room for racing. There are a lot of lines that a driver can use to get around it; we just need to figure out which line Cale likes best for the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet.”

Race: Lucas Oil 150
Date: November 9, 2012

Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem team finished seventh in the Lucas Oil 150 on Friday night at Phoenix International Raceway. Gale spent the first half of the race inside the top five, but after a mid-race spin was forced to battle back through the field for his seventh top-10 finish of the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season.

Being faced with a short 150-mile race on a newly reconfigured one-mile track, Gale and the Rheem team knew that qualifying would play an important role. After practicing inside the top-15 in both sessions, Gale recorded a 26.888-second lap during qualifying to secure the fourth starting position for the 150-lap race on Friday evening.

Early in the event, Gale listened to the coaching of veteran spotter Rick Carelli and crew chief Jerry Baxter on improving his line around the one-mile speedway. By backing up his corner, Gale returned to the throttle sooner and avoided overworking his brakes to gain valuable seconds on the track. Sitting in the fifth position, Gale reported a tight truck early in the race, but noted that the handling continued to improve as the track loosened up. The Rheem team utilized a caution on lap 37 to put four fresh tires on their truck and fill the fuel tank. Gale left pit road in ninth-place, but continued to pick up positions as a series of restarts continually kept the field close.

Within just 30 laps, Gale had raced all the way up to fifth. Battling hard for position on lap 73, Gale was in the low groove in turn four when he got pinched and made contact with the other truck. The No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet was sent spinning across the track before ultimately making contact with the outside wall. Suffering damage to the left rear, Gale drove the Rheem Chevrolet down pit road and the Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) crew quickly went to work fixing their Silverado.

Following the incident, Gale slid back to the 18th position. With a fast truck, Gale was able to battle a tight handling Chevrolet to get back up to 15th. A timely caution on lap 104 allowed Gale to revisit pit road for a track bar adjustment, which helped restore additional speed in the bruised truck. Over the next 10 laps, Gale returned to the top 10 where he would stay for the remainder of the evening. By the time the checkered flag waved, Gale was scored in the seventh position.

“The Rheem team built me a great Chevrolet for tonight’s race,” commented Gale. “Up until this weekend, I had never raced at Phoenix International Raceway. It’s a really fun track and my team built me one of the best trucks that we’ve had all season. We were definitely a top-five truck, and with how everything was playing out I think we had a shot at the win. We got a little bit behind when we spun near the halfway point, but I’m really proud of how hard my team worked to get our truck repaired and back in contention. These guys have done such a great job all season; I can’t wait to get to Homestead-Miami Speedway with them next weekend.”

The NCWTS will travel to Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway for a champion to be named following the final race of the 2012 season on Friday, Nov. 16. Live coverage of the Ford EcoBoost 200 will begin at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90. Fans can also tune in to qualifying on Friday, Nov. 16, at 4:30 p.m. EST on SPEED.

The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has attended races at the one-mile oval in Avondale, Ariz., but has never driven on the circuit and has not been to the track since it was reconfigured in 2011. Gale, who grew up racing on short tracks, has one pole and a pair of top-five finishes at tracks one-mile or less during the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season.

Back to the traditional red & black… The No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet driven by Cale Gale will return to its traditional red and black paint scheme for this weekend’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. Additionally, the Rheem Chevrolet will keep its standard look for next week’s season finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

Meet Cale Gale… Cale Gale will join his Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) teammates Justin Lofton and Max Gresham at the Chevy Stage on Friday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. Mountain time. The trio will sign autographs for fans following a brief question and answer session at the Team Chevy display in the fan midway.

Battling for points… With the 2012 season coming to an end, Cale Gale continues to be ranked inside the top 15 in both the championship driver and owner point standings. Gale, who has scored six top-10 finishes this season, is ranked 12th in driver points and 14th in owner points.
From the Driver’s Seat
Cale Gale Quotes…

On racing at Phoenix International Raceway:

“I’ve never raced at Phoenix International Raceway, so I don’t really know what to expect this weekend with our No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. I’ve been to the speedway as a spectator in the past, but I haven’t been there since they changed the track. I talked to Ron Hornaday last week to get some advice and get ready for the race. The truck series hasn’t raced there since the reconfiguration, so it’s a relative unknown for everyone.”

On what to expect in the Lucas Oil 150:
“There will be a lot of unknowns going into the race at Phoenix International Raceway. We have two practice sessions on Thursday night, so we’ll have some time to work through adjustments for our Rheem Chevrolet. It’s a short race–only 150 laps–which means that we won’t have a lot of time during the race to make changes. Fortunately our final practice session is right around race time, so that should help us get everything right in race trim. Jerry Baxter, my crew chief, has been to the track since they changed it, so hopefully that will work to our advantage with him having a notebook. Track position will definitely play a role on Friday night and pit stops will need to be flawless to win the race.”

On the 2012 NCWTS season winding down:

“I’ve had a lot of fun this year racing with my No. 33 Rheem team from Eddie Sharp Racing. The guys have worked so hard all season and have done a great job. We’ve accomplished a lot, but we still have two races left. We’re looking to finish out our 2012 rookie campaign strong with a solid finish this week at Phoenix [International Raceway] and next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway.”

From the Pit Box
Jerry Baxter Quotes…

On racing in Phoenix, Ariz.:

“I’m really excited to get to Phoenix International Raceway with the Rheem team. We’re taking chassis No. 044–it’s a truck that we haven’t raced before, but one that we believe will be fast. They’ve reconfigured the track since the last time that the Truck Series has been there, so it will be new to a lot of these guys. I’ve been there with the Nationwide Series and Cup Series since they’ve made the change, but we’ll have to see how much of that knowledge transfers over to the trucks. The track is a lot faster and has more grip, so tires don’t really fall off. With such a short race, making the right call whether it’s for two tires or four will be important.”

Race: WinStar World Casino 350
Date: November 2, 2012

Cale Gale and the No. 33 team brought the Ruud Chevrolet home in the 15th position on Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender spent half of the WinStar World Casino 350 inside the top 15 and led three laps en route to his 11th top-15 finish this season.

With a fast Silverado as soon as they unloaded, Gale worked closely with crew chief Jerry Baxter throughout Thursday’s two practice sessions to ensure that his Ruud Chevrolet had the best setup as possible for Friday’s 147-lap race. With qualifying planned during the heat of the afternoon and the race scheduled to begin as the sun set, the Ruud crew knew that they needed a setup that would allow for adjustments as the race progressed. With a neutral truck, Gale was able to hold his Ruud Chevrolet wide open during his qualifying lap to secure the 12th starting position.

During the opening laps of the race, Gale’s silver and red machine was a little bit snug, but knowing the track would lose grip as the evening progressed the driver was happy with his truck. Just outside the top 10, Gale came down pit road for a four-tire stop during the lap 32 caution period. With the fresh tires, Gale was able to race into the top 10 throughout the next fuel run.

Knowing the importance of track position on the 1.5-mile track, the Ruud team opted to take just two tires during the second and final caution of the day on lap 66. The strategy enabled Gale to be the first competitor off pit road and overtake the lead in the WinStar World Casino 350. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender maintained the lead for three laps before moving back through the field.

As the track loosened up, so did Gale’s Ruud Chevrolet. The young driver slid back as far as the 21st position, but a round of green-flag pit stops provided the Ruud team an opportunity to tighten their Chevrolet. With his truck handling better, Gale was able to catch his competition and pick up several positions during the closing laps. By the time the checkered flag waved, Gale was scored in the 15th position.

“Our Ruud Chevrolet was great all weekend,” commented Gale following the WinStar World Casino 350. “This chassis has been fast every time we’ve raced it, and this weekend was no exception. We got a little behind when our Silverado got really loose just past the midpoint in the race, but the Ruud team worked on the truck during a green-flag pit stop and got us back on track. I’ve had so much fun this season and I’ve really enjoyed working with this group of guys; I’m looking forward to getting to Phoenix International Raceway next week.”

With just two races left in the 2012 season, the NCWTS will take on Phoenix International Raceway on Friday, November 9. Live coverage of the Lucas Oil 150 will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90. Qualifying from the one-mile oval will get fans ready for the race with a broadcast on SPEED at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon.

No. 33 Ruud Chevrolet News and Notes

Racing with Ruud… Cale Gale will race with the Ruud colors on the No. 33 Chevrolet this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Known for its reliability, which will be showcased on the truck with the tagline “Rely on Ruud,” Ruud is a major quality brand of Rheem that produces products in the heating, cooling and water heating categories. It is the same design that Gale competed with at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this season. Additionally, this is the final “special” paint scheme for the No. 33 Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) team this season as Gale’s Silverado will return to its traditional red and black colors to finish out the year.

Taking on Texas… Cale Gale will make his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, Nov. 2. Earlier this season, Gale rolled off 16th at the 1.5-mile track after rain cancelled qualifying and altered the practice schedule. With flawless pit stops, solid restarts and a good strategy, the No. 33 ESR team raced to an eighth-place finish. In Nov. 2008, Gale started the race on the outside front row, narrowly missing the pole by just one one-thousandth of a second.

Meet Cale Gale… Cale Gale, driver of the No. 33 Ruud Chevrolet Silverado, will make an appearance with his ESR teammates Justin Lofton and Max Gresham on Friday afternoon at the Chevy Stage. Located in the midway, fans are invited to meet the ESR driver lineup at 3:50 p.m. Central time. The drivers will participate in a brief Q&A session before signing autographs and taking photos with fans.

Battling for Points… With just three races remaining in the 2012 NCWTS’ season, Cale Gale is currently ranked inside the top 15 of both the championship driver and owner point standings. Gale, who has scored six top-10 finishes this season, is ranked 13th in driver points and 15th in owner points. Currently second in the Rookie of the Year points, Gale is chasing leader Ty Dillon.

Most Popular Driver… Voting is open for the NCWTS Most Popular Driver Award. Visit nascar.com/ncwtsmpd and vote for Cale Gale today and every day through Nov. 16, 2012. New to this year’s campaign, two lucky fans and their guests will win an all-expense paid trip to the 2012 Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series Awards banquet at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel by registering for the Most Popular Driver sweepstakes after placing their vote.

Watch and Listen… Down to the final three races of the 2012 season, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to Texas Motor Speedway to battle under the lights on Friday, Nov. 2. Gear up for the action with a broadcast of qualifying from the 1.5-mile oval on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Eastern time on SPEED. Live coverage of the WinStar World Casino 350 will follow on SPEED, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at 7:30 p.m. ET.

From the Driver’s Seat
Cale Gale Quotes…

On getting back to Texas Motor Speedway:

“I’m really excited to get back to Texas Motor Speedway with our No. 33 Ruud Chevrolet this weekend. We ran really well there in the spring, and I’m excited to get on track with a special paint scheme and show off the Ruud brand. We’re taking the same truck that we raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway a few weeks ago-it’s fast, and out of all the trucks we have, this one is one of my favorites. The No. 33 team did a great job on pit road during the spring race and Jerry [Baxter] did a great job coming up with a strategy. Since then, I feel like we’ve come a long way as a team and hopefully we will all be able to do an even better job.”

On what makes Texas special:

“I always look forward to racing at Texas Motor Speedway. It’s a fast mile-and-a-half track, and it’s a lot of fun to race there. More importantly, it’s a track that’s close to my family and I look forward to racing in front of them. My mom grew up in Texas and most of her family still lives there, including my grandmother and several aunts and uncles. When I was a kid I would spend several weeks over the summer visiting family in Texas-we would go sightseeing and to games for the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers. I have a lot of good memories in Texas; hopefully I can make a couple more this weekend with our No. 33 Ruud Chevrolet.”

From the Pit Box
Jerry Baxter Quotes…

On getting ready to race at Texas Motor Speedway:

“We had a good race with the No. 33 Ruud Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway this past spring. We had a fast truck that we could adjust as the track conditions changed, and we benefitted from a solid pit strategy. Going into the race this weekend, I feel like Cale has improved on the bigger tracks and I’ve learned more about working on the trucks. That being said, I think we’ll have an even better truck this weekend than we had for the June race. I’m really excited to see what we’re able to do with the Ruud Chevrolet this coming weekend and throughout the rest of the season.”

Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem Chasing the Cure team entered the race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway with high hopes of competing for the win. The team loaded up one of their best trucks decorated in pink and black to celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and went to one of Gale’s favorite tracks on the NASCAR circuit. Unfortunately, the team’s hopes for a win were dashed when they entered the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) garage after just seven laps with terminal engine damage.

Gale led the Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) stable in both practice sessions on Friday afternoon. The team spent the two practices working through a variety of setup options and working on Gale’s line around the 0.526-mile track. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender also utilized the practice time to adjust to a new, shorter shifter that the team installed prior to the Kroger 200 race weekend.

On Saturday morning, the team returned to the historic short track to prepare for qualifying and the 200-lap race. Inconsistent weather conditions and an off- and on-rain shower during qualifying made it challenging for many drivers to lay down a fast lap. The session was paused twice to allow jet dryers to work on the track before resuming hot laps. Gale went on the track while it was drizzling and posted only a 20.026-second lap to roll off 22nd later that afternoon.

Missing a shift on the initial start, Gale experienced motor issues as soon as the green flag waved as his truck turned nearly 1,500 rpm less than his competitors. Quickly falling through the field, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender spoke with his Rheem Chasing the Cure Chevrolet team. By lap seven, Gale pulled onto pit road and eventually into the garage for the crew to look under the hood and assess the damage. The Rheem Chasing the Cure team discovered a burned cylinder bringing a very early end to their day and resulting in a 35th-place finish.

“Days like today are really tough,” commented Gale. “I grew up racing on short tracks, and I always look forward to races at Martinsville Speedway. My Rheem Chasing the Cure team built me a great truck-it handled well all weekend and I’m sure that we would have been able to make a run for the front. Unfortunately, sometimes, these things happen. We have improved so much over the course of this season, and I’m confident that we’ll be able to bounce back over the next three races.

“I would like to thank Rheem for all of their support this season,” continued Gale. “We wrapped up the Rheem Chasing the Cure program this weekend. It was a charitable initiative designed to raise breast cancer awareness and support the Young Survival Coalition. The program gave me a really cool opportunity to connect with breast cancer survivors and try to make a difference in the fight of so many others battling breast cancer. It meant a lot to race our Rheem Chasing the Cure Chevrolet while wearing a pink and black firesuit over the last two races.”

With just a green-white-checkered finish left to the 2012 NCWTS season, the truck series will travel to Texas Motor Speedway for race 20 of 22. Gear up for the action with a broadcast of qualifying from the 1.5-mile oval on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on SPEED. Live coverage of the WinStar World Casino 350 will air on SPEED, MRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will follow at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 2.

No. 33 Rheem Chasing the Cure Chevrolet News and Notes

Rheem Chasing the Cure… Cale Gale and the No. 33 Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) team will continue to promote the Rheem Chasing the Cure program this weekend at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. In its second year, the month-long program is designed to promote breast cancer awareness and benefit the Young Survival Coalition (YSC). The YSC is an organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. One of the highlights of the program is the Chasing the Cure Video Contest, which enables fans to share their story about their personal victory over breast cancer. Extended through Wednesday, Oct. 24, the first 100 entrants to post a video on the Rheem Racing Facebook page (Facebook.com/RheemRacing) will receive a free “Check Your Headlights” t-shirt from Rheem Racing.

Rheem Chevrolet goes pink and black for breast cancer awareness… The No. 33 Rheem Chasing the Cure Chevrolet driven by Cale Gale in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will remain pink and black to promote breast cancer awareness for the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway. The ESR Silverado utilized the same paint scheme, which highlights Rheem’s Chasing the Cure program, in the NCWTS race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway earlier this month.

Back at the short track… Gale will make his third career NCWTS start at the historic Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 27. In the spring race, Gale qualified in the fourth position and ran inside the top 10 all afternoon. While running sixth with less than 10 laps remaining, the Rheem Chevrolet suffered a flat tire and forced Gale down pit road for a four-tire stop resulting in a 15th-place finish. Gale has one top-10 finish (seventh) at the short track from October 2011.

Meet Cale Gale… Gale will join his ESR teammates Justin Lofton and Max Gresham at the Chevy Stage at 9:15 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday morning. The group will sign autographs following a brief question and answer session.

Battling for points… With just four races remaining in the 2012 NCWTS season, Gale is currently ranked inside the top 15 in both the championship driver and owner point standings. Gale, who has scored six top-10 finishes this season, is ranked 12th in driver points and 14th in owner points. Currently second in the Rookie of the Year points, Gale is in hot pursuit of leader Ty Dillon.

Most Popular Driver… Voting has opened for the NCWTS Most Popular Driver Award! Visit www.nascar.com/ncwtsmpd and vote for Cale Gale today and every day through Nov.

Watch and listen… Entering its last four-race stretch of the year, the NCWTS heads to the historic Martinsville Speedway for the Kroger 200 on Saturday, Oct. 27. Stay up to speed as SPEED broadcasts practice (Friday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. EDT), and qualifying (Saturday, Oct. 27, 10:30 a.m. EDT) from the 0.526-mile oval. Then, tune in to “NCWTS Setup” on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1:30 p.m. EDT to see a short feature about Cale Gale and the Rheem Chasing the Cure program as they paint the curbs pink at Martinsville Speedway.
From the Driver’s Seat
Cale Gale Quotes…

On getting back to Martinsville:

“I’m really excited to race at Martinsville Speedway this weekend with our No. 33 Rheem Chasing the Cure Chevrolet. We had a great truck there earlier this season and our team has a lot of positive momentum going into this weekend, so I’m excited to see what we can do. The races at Martinsville are all about staying out of trouble-if we can keep the nose and fenders on it, we should be there to battle it out at the end.”

On Chasing the Cure with Rheem:

“It’s been really cool to be a part of the Rheem Chasing the Cure program. We were able to bring a lot of attention to the truck with a top-10 finish at my home track [Talladega Superspeedway] earlier this month, and hopefully we can run up front with it again this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. Through the Chasing the Cure program, I’ve been able to meet several breast cancer survivors and I’ve had a lot of people come up and tell me about their personal battles, so it has meant a lot to see how this program has personally affected those individuals. We even joined a couple survivors to paint the curbing pink at Martinsville Speedway earlier this month. That was a lot of fun, but I’m more excited to race around those curbs this weekend.”

On racing at Martinsville:

“We’re really excited to go back to Martinsville Speedway with Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem Chasing the Cure Chevrolet this weekend. The spring race at Martinsville was just the second race of the season, and my second race as a crew chief in the Camping World Truck Series. Cale and I have learned a lot about each other, and I’ve learned a lot about the trucks since then. We qualified fourth in that race and had the chance to finish inside the top five; we’ve come a long way since then and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together this weekend.”
